Gimp?

Hi, just wondering, does anyone here use GIMP as an alternative to PhotoShop? I've always used it, and found it to be perfectly good.

I do, I think Wookie used to use it as well.

Works great with UFRaw or Raw Therapee in my experience.

I'd appreciate 16-bit support sometimes, though. Then again, I use Corel Photo-Paint 11 for that (got the bundle for very good money).

I have used it for a number of years and found mathmapping to be quite a fun element...don't understand it at all but it's fun.

Gimp is brilliant, my main problem is my inability to take good photographs to start with . . . the GIGO function :bonk:

I do really like GIMP, but my only problem is that I don't know how to use the vast majority of what it can do! I can do the normal sharpening, levels, saturation, contrast, etc, but the minute we move into layers or similar, I just get completely lost. Noone happens to know of any good tutorials?

Yup I use GIMP as well, although like others I have no idea what most of the stuff on there actually does!
