Gimp B&w

Hi, new to this and new to GIMP. What is the quickest way in GIMP to convert from colour to B&W.

Go tool bar > colour > desaturate > lightness.

Thats it I think

Thanks I used image>mode>greyscale

That or you can go colour > colour hue then get rid of the saturation from the main colour bar.
