Just noticed a camera advertised for sale that had a GGS screen protector fitted.

Can anyone advise if the GGS screen protectors are any good and are they likely to cause problems at a later stage if you want to remove them?

Got one on my D300s, they are very thin coated sheets of glass that you just stick on the rear and top LCDs. Definitely better than the Nikon plastic protector that is supplied with the camera. Get smeary like any other gloss finish - but seems ok and doesnt adversely alter the screen.
Never tried to remove one so can't comment on their ease of removal. Literature suggests they should come off ok but obviously cannot be re-applied.

They come off very easily as the adhesive is only around edges, not across the whole screen. I have them on my d700 and X100 and wouldn't be without them.

using a guitar pick, they come off easily and any adhesive residue is removed with glass cleaner

Just put one on my D90, not had any issue so far. I feel it is better than the one that comes with the D90 as it keep coming off when taking the camera out of the bag.

That'll be a big help as one thing I'm not short of is guitar picks.

Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated. Bit of a mixed review but most sound reasonably happy with them.

I have them on my cameras and love them. Better than the awful plastic cover you get from the manufacturers. Been using them for almost a year with no issues so far

I've got them on my 5D3 and they are easy to fit, very clear when they are on and very easy to clean (a quick wipe and they are as good as new) and with them being rigid they don't start rippling or peeling when you slide them into your bag. I've just got a 7D and will be getting a GGS screen for that too. I've had lots of the plastic film ones and they were utter rubbish compared. You can see the fit on a 5D3 and how marked the rear screen would get without one.

if you are going to get one get this type:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-GGS-III-LCD-Glass-Screen-Protector-for-Nikon-D800-/261078367250?pt=UK_Photography_Screen_Protectors&hash=item3cc97bbc12#ht_2527wt_1163
tried the stick on ones, two on my D300 & two on my D7000...they all broke, the
new ones got a protected edge on them, which you couldn't get at the time, tried one of these on 50D and they are much better, with the all glass ones, it only takes a small chip, to crack all the screen..the all glass ones won't take a knock ;)

There are also slide on one's that don't stick to the camera
They slide over the view finder and also protect that as well
I have one on my 7D and 5D mkii
And love them

Awaiting delivery of one for my 1 DX, found them excellent and had them on all my bodies.
