Getting shafted......

Yes it is
I've watched over 200 games (over 10 years)at virtually every academy ground from u8's to u21's, my son is playing at Anfield as I write this and I can assure you at the Top academy's cheating is not taught. In fact. I have really not seen any examples of diving in all those games.

First rule of cheating - don't get caught.

Second rule of cheating - don't get caught.

You won't see the striker stick a finger up the marking defender's ass to rile him into fouling. You're being a bit naïve Craig.

Not really seen, as in not seen or seen, which is it, not really seen means you actually saw it but didnt think it was that bad and turned a blind eye.

The part you highlighted yourself about Top Academy, why the need to highlight that, so what you are saying is it does happen but just not at top academies

read it again- really not seen does not mean "not really seen"

Half time pep talk:

Coach: Why are you letting that big centre back dominate you?

Striker: Well, he's big and powerful and skilful.

Coach: So what the f*** are you going to do about it?

This conversation, and all its implications, takes place at all levels of competitive sport.

You must see that Craig, surely?

Yes I do see that- What I was arguing is that "cheating" is not taught from a young age. My lad has never been taught to cheat and I've never seen him try to cheat. I'm not saying it doesn't happen in the professional game because it does but only by a minority of players. Some times it seems to be encouraged by commentators "he was too honest" does my head in!

Craig, you have either seen or not seen, theres no "really not seen" or "not really seen" its black and white, you have or you havent or you dont care to admit to having seen it.

Christ you really need to turn your telly on, the overwhelming majority of professionals blatantly and openly cheat in some way or another.

Money breeds corruption

I suspect we're into semantics about what is "cheating."

Diving, by the way, is a particularly poor way of attempting to gain an advantage, and not encouraged.

I remember that squeaky clean, nice young chap, Gary Linneker, being asked if he ever cheated. This would be about 10 years ago.

His answer, accompanied by a wry smile, was, "well it depends what you mean by cheating."

yep I know- I know it goes on but still say it's a minority but the debate was if it was taught from a young age and it isn't. Even at older ages it isn't taught.

Of course it is, i repeat myself, i saw and heard it taught to my son and 20 others and my school teacher who was an ex Pro keeper in the sixties said it was taught by himself and many others

Once again Craig youre talking out of your backside, i have over 30 years adult experience with playing, coaching and development, firstly with football and latterly with Rugby League.

Ive actually photographed for the National squads at professional and amateur levels, photographed thousands of juinor games and worked closely with coaching staff at several top clubs so feel i have the relevant experience to be able to state facts, you havent stated a single fact and a couple on condescending smilies just makes you look like an arse who has lost the debate and the plot

You see, you done it again, that little smiley says more about you than i ever could.

Theres zero facts in post 41, its your opinion not fact, just because you dont see something doesnt mean it doesn't happen.

Dozens of people saw Jimmy Saville skulking round the corridors and Childrens wards late at night at St James Hospital in Leeds, funny how no one admittied to seeing it until after his death though, ignorance is bliss.

nobody is being shafted. Nobody is forced to go to a football match. Don't like the prices then don't go.

OK my last post on the matter- My son is a professional footballer. It's not about seeing it, it's about knowing it. I have watched hundreds of hours of training of my own son and the likes of Callum Chambers, Luke Shaw, James Ward Prowse, Alex Oxlade Chamberlian, Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott etc etc. and they haven't been trained to cheat. I'm not saying cheating doesn't happen because it does but they are not trained and certainly not from a young age.You can get personal all you like- tends to happen when you are losing an argument but as I say my last post on the matter because it's getting pointless and life's too short. Have a good weekend

Well, if it's not being taught, I guess that explains why England can't compete at international level.

What absolute and utter garbage Craig, i know because i have seen and heard, you dont know but only because you havent, you arent putting up an argument, youre even sort of contradicting yourself.

You already lost the argument Craig a few posts back when you introduced the smilies as a way of admitting defeat.

Oh and just to be pedantic, YOU introduced the personal insults by calling me a knob, i didnt actually call you an arse, i just said your comments were making you look like one

Fact 1 You havent seen or dont even know about youngsters being told to cheat or trained to cheat, i get that.
Fact 2 Just because you havent seen it or been told about it DOES NOT mean it doesn't exist
Fact 3 I have seen it, i have heard it being discussed, My child was asked to dive and take a man out of the game as were 20 others in his group by an existing top level goalkeeping coach
Fact 4 I have seen and heard coaches at Juinor RL tell kids to take the opposition "star" player out of the game, even going so far as to sacricice their place on the field to do so.
Fact 5 Cheating exists at all levels across all sports at all age groups
Fact 6 Even kids are asked or expected to cheat (cheating as defined as breaking the rules of the game)
Fact 7 its a fact
Fact 8 You are as suggested earlier on in this thread by someone else, very naive.

But have a good weekend yourself, i agree with the sentiment that lifes too short, ill be going away for the weekend if the weather stays fine, i presume you will be going to watch a game where everyone cheats!!!!!!
