Wasn't sure whether to post this or not as I'm not one for blowin' me own trumpet....;)

I'm was approached by the guys at Practical Photography - initially they wanted to showcase one of my macro bubbles pictures, which then turned into writing an article on my oil + water macros, the first time I've had homework in 20 odd years! The end result will be 2 whole pages in the January issue of PP plus a showcase piece.... Bucking the trend a bit: I'm getting paid for these :D

Well done looks like that will be the photography magazine I buy in January.

Cheers guys, it's the January issue which is out on the 2nd of December (why do magazines do that wrong month thing??). To say I'm chuffed is an understatement really, I only started out 5 months ago as my latest hobby, no real intent to get published etc at all. Mrs R is amazed that I've got a hobby that has actually made a slight cash return instead of the usual money-pit choices (cars, bikes, watches, mountain biking etc).... ;)

Ahhhh, I did say "slight return" :) Another few hundred articles and I'll get my 5DmkII and mp-e65... :D

Ta, I'm just a shy boy at heart! I've got a PDF of the finished article which has now been printed and takes pride of place on my office wall, it's weird seeing your stuff in print... Bit like hearing your own voice for the first time ;)

I'd like to think it sets a precedent but I think "fluke" springs to mind, I'm not giving up my day job!
