I took a few photos of my sister and her 3 month old daughter at the weekend. At the moment my printer is 'not feeling too well' if you know what I mean. So my sister said that if I put the photos onto a memory card/CD she will take it to ASDA and get them printed there.

My question is, having never used a 'lab' before, is it best if the photos are in JPEG or TIFF, 8 bit, 16bit, RGB colour, CMYK etc etc.

Your help is much appreciated.

I read a comparison thing not that long ago recommending Tesco out of the supermarkets.

For photographs? or just your general shopping needs :p

Seriously, I have never got shots printed at a supermarket, but will be interested in seeing what kind of results you get :)

Thanks for the info ifotu, dod, I read something similar saying that Tesco were rated highly for the photography department, my sister though shops at ASDA :)

no worries :)

I've used ASDA in the past, 9x6 prints for £0.25 isn't bad at all :D

Hiya!

Don't know if you are a member, or if there is one near you, but Costco do cracking vibrant colours and are even cheaper than the supermarkets.

Anth.

I've had snaps dont at Asda they have bee quite good until the last lot which I was disappointed with (very dull colours) I've taken jpeg and tiffs they all get printed.
Don't for get about sites like photobox who I found to be excellent.

I had my last load of prints done through Asda online and they were very good. Even more surprising was that they arrived in Tesco packaging

There was a test in one mag afew weeks ago or month or so and asda came out best even against some online ones.
All the best,
James
