I am getting married on Saturday and off to Rome and Umbria for a few days on Monday. Rome appears to have a huge amount of photographic opportunities and Umbria doesn’t exactly appear short either.

We are staying in what was an old olive farm up in the hills about 20 miles west of Perugia. Perugia itself seems worth a visit and after searching on here and swatting up on the guidebooks Orvieto, Assisi, Montefalco and Spoleto are all on the possibles list.

Spoleto is about 65 miles and probably nearly 2 hours so that’s possibly about as far as I want to go really as I already have a long trip planned to the Ducati Museum on Wednesday.

That list is probably enough to fill the time available but does anyone have any firm favourites within that sort of area? I mentioned this trip in another thread here and somebody did suggest somewhere a little south or southeast of Perugia but I cannot recall the name.

TIA

Mark, I have not been that far south in Italy, but, congratulations on your marriage and have an excellent and enjoyable trip.

Congrats!

Went to Rome for my honeymoon a few years back and yes so many photo ops.
The strets are in some places very tight so wide angle lens and also everyone is out at night.

Mark, no idea about that area of Italy, but congratulations and have a great trip!

Firstly, congratulations.

Secondly, far be it for me to point this out but aren't you going on honeymoon? Sure I'd packing a camera as well but.....:whistling:

Thanks chaps and point taken Nick :)

I am taking a Billingham with my Hasselblad kit and Jacky was happy to let me use her hand luggage allowance for a Billingham full of Minolta kit - bodes well for our life together if she is that accommodating to my hobby!

And she was quite happy to let me make my pilgrimage to Ducati for the day - it must be love

Congratulations Mark.

Afraid like most I have little knowledge of the area but it would be a good excuss to buy a Fuji 617  and get some stunning panoramics ;)

After mugging her for her hand luggage allowance and the day out for Ducati I think a new camera on top might be pushing my luck!

But it's worth asking.…………. :;)

I'd like to know the penalty charge for slipping a Ducati in your hand luggage!

I was going to say "funny fella", going on honeymoon and thinking more about photography. Then I remembered, - I was just the same with ours in Crete!

A wife is just a woman, but a negative should last a lifetime:-}

Hope you remembered to say "I DO" and not "DO I?" congrats on getting hooked
