I'm considering getting a couple slides printed but I'd rather not go down the scan and email route given the trouble I have scanning Veliva.

What's the best way of going about getting a decent sized print done of a transparency?

Send the slide off to the lab to scan and print?

There's very few people left doing cibachromes, which are the only process which won't involve some sort of scanning process. Best bet is to find someone who can scan for you at a quality and price point you are comfortable with

When you say big, how big do you mean?

In fact theres nobody now to my knowledge, Ilford has discontinued all Cibachrome papers and chemicals as of about 4+ months or so ago, which is a great pity considering such lovely prints it used to produce :(.

Any sort of proper professional lab which offers printing from slides will very likely do a good job, remember that their not contrained by the cheap consumer devices that we use for scanning so things like the excessive contrast and inaccurate colours (easily solved using an IT8.7 calibration target BTW) are not an issue. Peak Imaging, The Darkroom and Palm Labs are the ones that spring to mind.
