Getting blocked

Recently i have been getting blocked from several sites, mostly the GTR forum which i have been using for years. I thought this was McAfee but after stopping it i have found it isnt that.

I get a grey page with a no entry type sign in the top left corner. Im also getting it randomly on other sites.So anyone ideas what does this type of blocking as its getting really annoying...

Nope not running malwarebytes or similar.

i had a similar thing from a different car forum... they can block and restrict acces to your ip address, making your computer unable to link....

what gtr club is it??? gtroc??

This almost certainly sounds like malware. It could be a DNS changer. As suggested, download and run MalwareBytes and for good measure, also run Trend Micro's Housecall online scanner.

Try turning off your firewall and see if it helps.

I would avoid this until you are certain our machine is not infected, as you are likely to only make things worse.

I dont get the same issue when viewing on my ipad, just my pc.Running malwarebytes just now.

Malwarebytes full scan finds nothing. No others issues with the pc other than getting blocked from the odd site.

What does your hosts file have in it if anything?

If the firewall off didn't work and hosts OK, try running Malwarebytes in safe mode.

Im crossing my fingers here but it now looks ok. I uninstalled site advisor from McAfee and reinstalled again..A few visits to the GTROC and all is good. Thanks for your help folks.
