I've just spent 4 days getting approved for iStockphoto. I went through the process with two cameras: a Fuji X100 and a Nikon D300s. I thought I'd share that experience with you as I know a few pro-photogs that have been declined at that particular site and it wasn't because of their equipment..

Not sure if I'm going to contribute much to the site but it was a fun challenge.

Thanks for that Dunc, a very interesting and enjoyable read ... now where do I find the outside of this box :D

Congratulations on being accepted, by the way

Thanks Dunc that makes for a very interesting read, since retiring I have been considering stock photography to supplement my pension your post makes it seem possible thanks again.

You're very welcome and I'm glad some have found it useful. I think stock photography needs plenty of thought and images shot specifically to fullfil market needs and trends. I've read of a few photographers doing quite well from just a few hundred images but those images are obviously prolific sellers. People do talk a lot about the low commissions paid but the fact is they can be bought over and over and on multiple sites so if the images are right there's surely money to be made.
