getting a flat advice

well im best qualified for it. its a caretakers job, for university students. they want someone who has carried out inspections before, which i have, worked with young people, which i have, can operate industrial cleaning equipment which i can, and general cleaning duties of communal areas. that is one of the jobs i applied for. but im always applying for more. the odds are in my favor. im only applying for jobs in liverpool.

is vauxhall not a car ... :D

its also an area of london i think thats a bit far from liverpool.

ashers have you looked at places on smithdown road, yes its fairly studenty but its easy to get into town on the bus (or to get to other uni accomodation areas on a bike etc) and should be reasonably cheap

no i never considered that i will have a look. do they take none students?

well vauxhall liverpool is actually across the water in wallasey, which again in areas can be rough but in others can be leafy suburbia.

you find with alot of areas in liverpool that its not so much the area, but the street, a particular area can have horrible streets and others whcih are really nice and quiet. research in person is a good idea, go visit areas and walk/drive around find out where looks ok.

im sure some landlords would, you'd be best contacting the estate agents/rental agencies and see what they have. but alot of the agents will be small localish ones so you'd probably have to visit in person

thats why i was thinking about there coz i saw a lot of properties for rent there that are cheap. all i know is he next time i get a job it will be in liverpool. coz thats the only job im willing to accept. coz im sick to death of blackpool. and i enjoyed living in liverpool last time i was there. i know i dont want to be near concert square coz i want to be able to sleep lol

and a s i said i know i wont find a nice flat, but i would like a half decent one.

im sorry ashers but i think a bedsit is the best you can do to start with, get some savings built up and then get a better property, you wont be able to afford to move in to something half-good..dont take your ex back, IIRC she left you for some other fella? got knocked up? best off without tbh!

no, bedsit is a room in someones house, you stay there, do your own meals and pay rent on it, i used to pay £50 a week back in the day. For a youngster its a good start, you may be lucky to have good people in there with you.

28 years old and in a bed sit lol. well i guess it would be a start

where are you staying just now? With your parents?

yeah no choice i got no jb and just got out of debt

they said they would pay for my tv licence and internet for the first year and help me move my stuff out when i get a place *** so that will help keep costs down

damn:)

nothing wrong with a bedsit though if you need somewhere

i spose it wil lget me out of blackpool. and anywhere (except northampton) would be better than blackpool :S

id rather get a flat than a bed sit though coz whenever u see these news stories it always seems u get druggys and criminals in bed sits and they seem to end up getting stuck there and i dont like the idea of being stuck there in bedsit land forever

you must be reading too much Daily Mail.

Bedsits are fine for people who dont have much disposable income and want to move away from their parental house.

Loads of Students live in bedsits.

i wish i was still a student. someone mentioned some money u can get towards getting a place or something any idea what that is? not the working tax credits something else

and the thing with my ex is shes come running back to me saying shes sorry and that she loves me and made a mistake and will i take her back and she alwaays loved me and her bf is kicking her and the baby out, just liek he did with the last girl and his other daughter so i suggested we move intogether as friends to keep costs down

bad move. get a bedsit and get on with your life, seriously. Its the best move you can make, tell 'er to do one, dont let her make a mug of you. Even you dont deserve that!

Have a look here for some useful info about renting your first place. Some of it won't be relevant, but much of it will. It gives you an idea of living costs and what you'll need etc.

You are better off moving in on your own imo. What happens when you want to impress the laydeeeees - you can't exactly bring them back to your place if your ex and her baby is there. Trust me, my ex moved in with me for about 3 months whilst he was waiting for things to work out with his own place, and it did my head in. I couldn't wait for him to move out!! Start afresh!

whats a studio flat?

and i thought about flat share, but im a bit scared of that since i lived with a girl i didnt know and had to get a restraining order against her coz she was mad.

LMAO!!! Pot calling kettle, etc, etc. :cuckoo:

not a good area just one where i dont have a chance of being shot. an ok area, and a flat that doesnt have cockroaches and mould

Ashers, I don't think the prospect of you being shot has anything to do with any particular area. It might have something to do with your knack of rubbing people up the wrong way - and that's NOT a threat - I don't do violence, but I hear you've been at the receiving end of some of that in the past. One has to wonder why.
