Update on IOL: http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/how-cops-nabbed-mom-selling-baby-1.1931307. This reports that the child is her own. She tried to sell the baby because she can't afford to look after him, and the father refuses to support her.

Nope, not woosh, and not Ruth's fault either. I was just annoyed and sickened by the whole story. A woman tries to sell her son because she can't afford to look after him, in a country where child support for a single parent on low income is R330 (about £18) a month; but spends more than R250 million on upgrading a personal residence - complete with cattle kraal, chicken runs and a 'fire pool' - for the President, and estimates of state condoned theft and corruption are in the region of R500 billion...
