what is going on in the world today, the strange thing is they say the 17 year old gunman fled and they scoured the city and he is now dead...but they dont say how or why he is dead.
 
Unfortunately, I don't believe you can stop this kind of thing occurring. While there's guns and lunatics in the world, you're going to continue to get shootings like this and many others before it. Very sad.
 
true but in america you can legally own a gun, in germany is a postal maniac kid...

we live in crazy times for sure

Reading the article it looks like the police popped him during the firefight.

These mass killings frequently seem to happen in schools - e.g. Dunblane.

Allegedly this guy in Germany owned 17 firearms.

Not against legitimate firearm ownership, but alarms bells should have rung long before 17 weapons were obtained.
Thomas Hamilton had a large weapons cache and enough ammo in magazines with him to kill everyone in the school.
 
What was worrying with Hamilton was the cold and calculated method in which he bombed up his magazines too, alternating between full metal jacketed rounds and hollowpoint.

Sadly this sort of thing is only ever going to get worse.
 
F***ing hell, we really are going downhill in social status (if you know what i mean I dont really know what i mean, bt it makes sense in my head)

What was more worrying was the fact that the gun club Hamilton belonged to expressed their concerns to the police who did nothing about it and as a result law abiding responsible gun owners such as myself lost their handguns. We can still own handguns under section 7.1 but you will never be granted 7.1. You can also own a handgun but only with a barrel of 12" and a permanent rod sticking out of the butt bringing the total length to 23".
They are normally termed LBR (long barreled revolver) and i used one for a while but to be honest it was pants.
It is a shame that lunatics ruin this world for us...I won't go into politics about our knee jerk government as it's not allowed on here. Suffice to say the responsible shooters have no handguns but the criminals.....:nono:

Other thing about Hamilton was that he rehearsed what he wanted to do.
He did several dummy runs from his home in Stirling to the school with the aim or arriving during Assembly.
By a stroke of luck a set of temp traffic lights were in place on the morning and dispersal was almost complete when he arrived.
He intended to kill many more than he did.

There is a video on bbc that suggests now that the police shot him in the leg but not too badly because it shows him in his last moments before he shot himself, they freeze the video though so you don't see that.

Strange how it happens, what could have turned a normal 17 year old into a homicidal psychopath?

The last I heard was on 60 seconds on BBC3 last night, and that was he was killed by police. But as uaual there'll be many differing acounts, and the full story will never be heard.

Who knows? Persecution, abuse, rejection (real or imagined). Most of us are equipped to deal with stuff. Others just snap.

A tragedy for all involved.
