I have only ever used Ilfotec Hc and Rodinal in the past.
I just stumbled across some Diafine clone on Nik and Trick.I did a little research and it’s looking quite interesting as it states that you can rate a film at a higher iso but the results will be as if you shot it at box speed. As I use a rollei 35 a lot and need a faster film so I can use as higher F stop it sounds promising.
So in theory can I rate Kentmere 400 at 800, develop it and get the speed bonus of 800 but none of the higher contrast and grain of 800?
After a little googling it also sounds like it basically works forever. You only need to replenish it as you lose volume when you develop.
The main negative I’ve seen, no pun!, is it gives very flat negatives, but as I scan this would actually be a bonus.
There must be a catch!
