I've just found out that Gene Nocon died on the 20th November.
For those of you that don't know of him, he was a Master Photographic Printer and was responsible for the f-stop method of printing and developed the Nocon Timer. Many darkroom careers were started from Gene's book Photographic Printing, may well be worth getting a copy before they become sought after.
He was a fellow of the RPS and was also the Ilford International Photographer of the year in 1980, he was also responsible for making some excellent prints from Prince Andrew's negatives thus lifting him from the mundane to slightly better than average.
