Just thought I would post a reminder as I couldn't see a thread mentioning it.

The annual geminid shower peaks late 13th/early 14th but you can see them already (4th to 17th). Its a new moon at the peak time this year so nice and dark viewing (cloud permitting)

I believe I'm off work around then... I guess I'll be camping out in a field if the skies are clear

Cheers for the heads up Chris, if it is clear tonight then I may well stay up.
As an aside, I was lucky enough to be awake at 5.30 this morning, and looking out the back window, had a great view of the crescent moon (with the dark bit quite clear) and three planets in line - Saturn, Venus and Mercury (low in the South Eastern sky).
Fingers crossed for clear skies.

Clear night tonight here in N Wales, will have to have a mooch later :) Had a look last night just after I posted the thread and saw two in 15 minutes so not bad. Will set up the camera tonight if it stays clear and hopefully catch one after my dismal attempt at the Perseids earlier this year :)

Just a quick bump as a reminder, going cloudy here :(

Cloudy here too... was looking forwards to that!

Been up all night doing some dissertation.... I hate cloud, I was looking out the window it was snowing as well! :(

Persisting with rain here when I got up for a pee at 12:30 or so, so didn't bother having a look for them. IIRC, weather's expected to be similar tonight but if I wake again, I'll have a look if I can't hear the rain (against my window). Should have excavated a tripod by then too (just about finished putting laminate flooring throughout downstairs but in meantime, most of the contents are in the spare bedroom!) in case it's clear enough to be worth a shot or 2.

its supposed to clear a bit here tonight i'll try again if the sky isnt still broken :(

Had clear skies all week now it pouring down ffs:(:(:(

It was crystal clear here, but to cold and tired to take any photos! Nipped out for a short while though and was an excellent display!

Sky had good clear patches up here tonight, went out on the off chance and saw a few meteors. Didn't bother with the camera though as I was in the garden rather than my preferred area a bit further from the light pollution.

Clear yesterday morning at 4ish so went out for a look. Cold as a penguin's prepuce and didn't see any shooting stars so came back into the warm! Had even brought tripod and DSLR down from where they've been kept while downstairs has been laminate floored!

clear sky here all night ....and spotted nothing :(
