Hi Guys,

I've been doing some paid work for the first time this year and I'm looking into camera gear insurance.

Can anyone recommend a good insurance company they have used?

I'm generally out and about doing event type photography, so need to be covered here and for accidental damage and public liability.

I know there are several options, but it would be good to hear people's first hand experiences.

Hi,

I have used Eversure in the past and then moved to Photoguard as the level over a I needed was better with Photogaurd.
I did a bit a internal Googling as found that Photoguard has been established for a while now so decided to go with them.
The good news is that I haven't had to make a claim yet, guess that's bad news for you as your probably looking for somebody who's made a claim to give you their views?

Both Eversure and Photoguard offer online quotations so why not get a quote from both and see which fits your requirements?

Kind regards,

Riz

Thanks @Rizvan I've been looking at Photoguard, but really wanted to hear from people about actual experience of dealing with them and making claims as some of these companies often make it really difficult when trying to make a claim.

I'm with Photoguard and had a positive experiences with them. I fell and KO'd a lens, put a claim in and was told to send it off for an estimate (you pay the postage). The estimate came through, I forwarded it to them, they bank transfered the repair amount to me minus the excess into my bank.
