My main photographic "outlet" is snapping at road and fell races, sad but true. Like most other sports photographers, the chance of these events happening is slim. I can't see any way that races will be on the calendar for some time to come. I have a D500 and a D7200 for sports, a D700 for landscapes etc etc and Sal's D7100 all sitting on the sidelines. (Bought Sal a Z50) just before lockdown appeared. Moved on to manual lenses with an adapter for the D700, as well as a couple of film cameras.
What to do with it all. If I sell it, will I regret this in the future? Steer away from the athletics photography I've been engrossed in for 7 years? Due to family circumstances, I can't go far from home and opportunities to snap are limited.
Thoughts?

What will you lose if you still had the same gear in 12 months time? Some things will be losing value, although I imaging the D700 isn't worth much even now, ditto the 7100.

In your situation I'd probably flog the old kit & not replace it *for now*. The D500 would likely do everything that the rest does now, only better except for offering reduced control of depth of field compared to the FX camera. If you feel a need to clear some stuff out then that's what I'd keep, along with all the lenses, but move the rest on. It won't be more expensive to re-buy in a year if you wish too, because those other cameras are already out of manufacture and replaced with newer models.

Out of all of them, I'd keep the D700. It's a tank, but I love it. Thanks for the advice.
