Just joined and introducing myself.
Been into photography as an enthusiastic amateur since the mid-late 70's. Cut my photographic teeth on a Praktica Super TL2 way back when, graduated to Asahi Pentax MX in the late 70's, by the mid-80's I was dragging a Nikon F3 around. Early 90's it was a Canon EOS 620 before I gave up on SLR's in favour of 35mm auto-everything when my activities (4wd, sailing, bushwalking, motorcycling etc) meant a weatherproof camera was advisable. A Pentax Zoom90 WR fulfilled my "go anywhere" requirements for many years.
First digital was a Kodak DC-25 in 1997 back in the days when digital resolution was measured in kilopixels.......183,000 to be exact in "HighRes" mode on the DC-25. I still have that camera.
Another few years with various Canon "A" series PowerShots (fantastic little cameras) before deciding I wanted to reconnect with my interchangeable lens photography heart. Being a "tech-head" from way back, as soon as I laid eyes on the specs of Sony's DSLT-A55V I was a man in love.....
3000+ shots later I remain very impressed with it.
Current stable includes the aforementioned a55, an a700 plus a swag of lenses of various quality. I've sold my financial soul to Sony, I just hope they continue the Minolta tradition of innovation and optical excellence. May I introduce the family:
No particular goals or aspirations other than to take better photographs!
Looking forward to learning and contributing.
Cheers
Dave
