weekly Garys(Gjhill) 52 for 22 - Week 52 - Showcase

Nice one. I've got one of my Grandad posing in his uniform from the WW1. They're very poignant photos.

A lovely set of treasures. It really does make you wonder who the guy was if your dad kept his picture - he looks so young and naieve.

on our regular dog walk

week three - receptacle_01.JPG

was a contender

Certainly ticks the theme box. Colours are a bit muted so maybe a convert to B&W might have benefited the shot?

Well spotted. Obviously a grey day, would have been good if any colour could have been drawn out.

It's an iPhone shot so a bit limited as to what I can do with it
Note to self
Use camera next time!!!!!

If you go to google images. (https://images.google.co.uk/) you'll see this.

Click on the little camera and it will allow you to search the internet using an image, rather than a search term.

Either upload an image from your PC - or use the link to the pic in this thread.

If another version of the image exists online, it will find it for you. Useful tip for trying to find the source image sometimes.

(I've just tried it and doesn't look like it's got one)

That's a different take on the receptacle theme.. I agree that a mono conversion with some sharp contrast might add interest.

Will give it a go and post here

so
a bit of a theme within a theme developing here

week four-bottle_01.JPG

monday morning empties

Nicely done - all supped as it should be :)

I'm sure there are bottles other than alcohol :) not that my efforts will be any different

Is the recurring theme empty bottles? :) It certainly fits the theme and I like the tight crop.
My OH tried to trick me with some non alcoholic gin the other night  :$

I'm surprised your image wasn't unintentional ICM from the aftereffects...

My first weeks entry in new was a full bottle of welsh single malt
i don’t want people to think I have a drink problem

That looks like an interesting selection too...

Home made gin was excellent
just to clarify they were consumed over a weekend
not all on one night

week five snappers choi ce.jpg

snappers choice and tech icm

Not a fan of ICM but that works well.

That hits the theme, a nice image

This is a great abstract Gary. I like it a lot. I'm guessing the you were bored while sitting in front of your computer, noticed the good light through the blinds, had you camera close at hand and the rest was history?

Very nice Gary. The amount of movement looks just right and the patch of colour on the left works well.

A different take on the ICM tech. It works well - identifiable but abstract at the same time.

got it in one

a quick grab on dog walk between the showers

alleyway.jpg

Corronation Street ????
It's very difficult to get an unusual view, but you have done it. B&W suits your image, lots of texture in the stones.

That's definitely a back alley - bins and cobblestones.
B/W suits the image.
