Garden Furniture Painting Question

The OH has bought a metal garden table and wants me to repaint it to match some existing chairs. The only issue is that from my limited online searches metal paints only seem to be available in black or white.

Any advice appreciated please

Car Paint, a million colours at your disposal - spray on primers, colours, laquer, easily available, easy to apply
 
Hammerite do loads of colours, both smooth and textured.

Not used Hammerite for about 20 years. I recall it being a very durable paint, but it was thick and therefore difficult to work with.

The smooth version is much easier.
 
Another vote for "Smoothrite" just scrape of the flaky rust and what have you, and slap it on...no need for primers and undercoats.
The Hamerite brush cleaner is very expensive though and turps won't work. Best use cheap brushes and throw them away afterwards.
Lots of colours now available.

Black Smoothrite matches everything!!! Graham's advice of using cheap brushes and binning them rather than trying to clean them is good.

Not certain I may get the approval from Higher Management for black though [emoji3][emoji3]
 
Black fades into the background against pretty much anything, especially if the bench legs are a bit twisty or ornate. IIRC, Smoothrite's green is a bit too green and stands out against grass rather than vanishing into it.

Yes but I'm on instruction to match with a couple of pewter coloured chairs [emoji6]
 
Paint them black as well!!!!!!!!!!
 
you can thin Hammerite to help it flow better, cant recall what with but it tells you on the tin. A hammered grey would look good with pewter chairs. Ive not found smooth any easier to work with than hammered, you want cool conditions for painting and make sure the table hasnt been sat in the sun before painting.
