Hello
I'm new to the forum and wondered if anyone has converted a garage into a studio. I've just done mine and would be interested in any lighting tips.
Thanks Simon

Been thinking of converting mine... Got any pictures to show us yours? Also what lighting equipment etc you have... :)

Have thought about this, but there is nowhere near enough height in mine to allow it. Would be OK for small product shots though I guess. A shame I don't do small product shots really.
I too would be interested to see your setup though. And good luck with it!

About to convert the back of my workshop too!! What height do you guys think is necessary for portraiture?

Not sure about what set-up i need either - I have 3 studio lights but would need more backgrounds and reflectors.

Mine is just a standard single garage. I've left the original door but it's sealed up inside and out. The roof does go up slightly at the end which is my "good" wall so that helps. I have two Bowens Gemini 500 watt lights and two softboxes. I got some wall booms for them to give me loads of adjustment and more floor space. The walls are all plasterboarded with rounded corners and the floor is smoothed into the wall. Infinity curve on a small scale. I will try and put some pictures up but it still needs the floor painting so isn't totally finished yet. I also have my PC and printer in there for editing work. It's good for kids as I can tether to the PC and they can see the photos on the monitor.
