Hey!
I'm Rhys. This is my first thread in the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place!
I'll be finished with my A-Level studies in July and have decided to do some travelling before going off to Uni the year after. I plan on working from July '12 up until the following May/June, so that gives me a few months to see the world.
My initial searches (and influence from a Canadian teacher at school) have brought up Canada as a great location; I'm really passionate about wildlife and the natural world, and I've been promised that Canada is the way to go. However, I recently went to Kenya with my family on holiday and I absolutely loved it. The photographic opportunities were awesome, and the two weeks just flew by.
Instead of a purely photographic trip, though, I'd love to do some volunteering with local projects, etc., but the photography will definitely be a big factor in my eventual decision!
What I'm asking, kind folk of TP, is for any kind of advice from those of you who may have done something similar, and the best location for such a trip. I'm not too fussed about luxuries, and am quite happy to take refuge in hostels/tents/blanket on floor job! Any advice would be thoroughly appreciated.
Thanks!
