Game of Thrones Series 6,7 & 8 - Contains Spoilers

The season is certainly more rushed compared to previous seasons and the plots are a little lacking but this season just seems to be answering questions and playing out the final days of the plots we have all loved so much. You can't say that's a bad thing, cliff hangers are awful and I couldn't think of anything worse than having open plots littering the mind.
Moving some of the samey samey rubbish about would be nice mind!

Yeah, I think this season is about getting everything into place for the final season, and to be fair they have a lot of ground to cover if they want to avoid a finale that is anything but blazingly obvious. Some of it has been very handed (e.g. The Cave of Convenience, The Greyjoy of Convenience, The Uncle of Convenience etc.) but I'll forgive them because the action has been quite gripping. However, I do hope next season we do have resolutions for all the characters, for good or bad.

Yeah last episode is like a TV movie in length.
I have one prediction, Ayra Stark is going to die, by the hands of her sister Sansa. But it'll have been a terrible mistake. You see Arya is going to slot Little Finger, do the face off thing. Then go to see Sansa to see if she can find out what they where plotting together. However Sansa has already tired of Little Finger and is ready to slot him herself. So when he (Ayre) comes to see her she knifes him (or poison) Anyway something that's a slow lingering death, giving Arya chance to reveal herself.

Also this now dead dragon, will it breath fire or ice?

I hope you are wrong! I want to see happy families at the end (Stark), but this being GoT is that likely?

I've heard tomorrow's episode is 80 mins long?

Last weeks (just watched it again) programme was 80 minutes long. The actual episode was bang on 60 minutes long. Gives the viewer the full hour to enjoy and the extra for ads (to forward through :-) ).
Same thing Downtown used to do.
Roll on tonight. :-)

Agreed. It was superb! Answers though without actually involving the character in question was a bit rubbish though. I always like to see the look on their faces and didn't get to this time which is rubbish.

Let's wait until mid week before discussing though!

Let's give folks chance to watch episode 7. But dam that was good, a few story arcs have ended

So Cersi ordered the mountain to kill him but he just walked past him and out the door. I didn't get that bit at all.

That's because it was a bluff. I'd imagine the nod was to tell him to unsheath his sword.

maybe he killed that big burnt oaf and walked away?

glad little finger got killed, good

I enjoyed the lead-up to that, where it looked as though Sansa and Arya were at loggerheads and that Arya was the one about to be accused, and then Sansa addressed the question to Littlefinger instead. Some good acting there, and throughout the episode from Cersei too.

Yes, hugely enjoyable the final episode. Lots of comparisons & contradictions between the factions to chew over.

I like the contrast between Cersei, who has driven her family away, versus the Starks, who are now pulling together as a family.
I enjoyed Theon finally getting some balls back as it were - contrast with Bron's theory about it all being about "cock"
The scene between Cersei and Tyrion was great, classic GoT dialog that has largely been missing in this series.
And how many times did you think someone was going to cop it; Arya, Theon, Tyrion and Jamie all came close - gripping stuff.

Shame to see Littlefinger cop it as he was one of the better characters, even if despicable, but I'm fairly sure we'll see his face again.

Yes, his face ;)

Not sorry to see Littlefinger go tbh, he was far too slimy and a right weasel. I wonder if the big ginger wildling guy made it off the wall. Great character, I always wanted him to hook up with Brianne.

It was very dark and I think a bit of an 'ordinary ' ending for the Night King
Maybe the screen writers are bored now
I feel I have wasted 2 year's sky subscriptions
Very disappointed

I must admit I was getting a bit bored of the episode last night as thought they were going to lose so did think come on just get on with it but was not expecting that ending. Can see by last night that the director is a huge Lord of the Rings fan, in particular the battle at Helm's deep. Def got a sense of that scene and the final battle at Hogwarts on last night's episode.
Just wondering what they're going to fill the last 3 episodes with.

I did guess what might happen as the Witch when talking to Ayra gave a bit of a clue away, but really enjoyed it.... I've read somewhere there's lots of clues scattered in each episode as to what happen next if you keep a keen eye on it!

I like the way the previous episode was set up to lead you into thinking that Brienne and/or Jamie/Tormund etc. were going to cop it, and then did something completely different. Masterful mis-direction, though I thought the battle itself wasn't a patch on the Battle of the Barstewards (seemed alarmingly out of focus in places, too).

i couldn't see much detail during the battle
it seemed overly dark
maybe i need to watch the recording and fiddle with tv settings

It's dark because it's supposed to be. It's a progression of time from the early seasons to the last. The transition of seasons from summer's end through autumn and in to winter and the tones, brightness and hue were very tastefully done with accurate representations of seasonal change and lighting associated with a medieval type time period.

For a feature length episode it was spot on all be it a little predictable if your of an analytical mind set. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I enjoyed it so much, I almost forgot to breathe! Looks like it's Stark/ Targaerean v Lannister from here on in, really looking forward to it

Only problem is that I'm away when the last episode is aired, major spoiler avoidance operation required. Thankfully, it'll only be overnight

Lights off And curtains closed.
Didn't have a problem with image darkness tbh.
Half the season dealing with the White Walkers, half now dealing with Cersie.
I think it fitting that the White King was killed by the psycho kid ninja, she's been planning it since the start of season 7.

I'm sure I saw Sam on the ground with about 10 bad guys on him, then a few minutes later he's standing alive and well?

Not being able to see was half the point, all consuming unstoppable death in the night - scary! I particularly liked the first engagement where the horses rode out aflame and full of pomp only to be snuffed out - dooooooom!

Loved the episode although the numbers don't really stack up, millions of unstoppable death things slaughtering the armies at will only for it to be pretty odds-even slugging it out in the castle, even after the resurrection, and none of the major characters copped it. Surely there aren't the armies left to battle Cersie? and how many dragons remained?

Looking at the trailer for next week's episode I think we still have 2 dragons plus ghost so maybe they can beat the 20,000 members of the golden company after all [emoji848][emoji23]

I guess a substantial amount were wiped out by the dragons? Speaking of which, later we did find ourselves wondering quite a few times as the armies of dead stormed the castle, "where are the dragons!!!" I think they took too long to show that they were dog fighting above.

I must admit I was surprised when Jon went after the night king as that would have been playing right into his hands. Thought we were going to lose at least 1 of the dragons if not both in that scene and either Jon or Dani. Still think we might lose one of the dragons in the battle at kings landing as think they still have the 'dragon bow'
