Just took my phone....... out the washing machine- cracked screen, manicly depressed etc lol. I said with the s2 I wouldn't be looking to upgrade soon cause it did everything I wanted. So do I replace it with the same old, or get the s3 so atleast I've got a new toy to play with? Luckily I backed up phone a few weeks ago. Was thinking of getting a lens from digitalrev and also notice they do phones. What do you reckon? Seems strange not having a phone-in only been about an hour

Thanks

Ooops...... not worth repairing it??? It might dry out in the airing cupboard and only need a screen then???

Cheers,

Ste

Na, I autopsied it further when I noticed screen was smashed. I did a quick Google and apparantly several peoples have survived when going through wash with a flat battery. Mine was on before it went in so probably got frazzled soon after

Got a nice bag of rice going spare though ha ha

House contents insurance claim?

The S3 is a fantastic phone, it will do everything your S2 does and more, as per the post above, is the phone insured for accidental damage?

Rather than being tied to a contract I just bought it on payg so I could upgrade when I like. I'll have to take this one on the chin as i havent got insurance on it. Just starting to realise its a complete nuisance its now gone. Looks like I'll be getting the s3 to replace it. Oh why why why didn't I check that pocket. It was the one phone I was completely happy with to....... till I washed it !!!

I've also got the S2. I wouldn't bother upgrading to the S3 for the sake of it, but if I were in your shoes I'd probably go with the S3. But then, it is obviously a fair bit more expensive, so it's up to you to decide if it's worth the extra. You could probably get an S2 pretty cheap used now though.

as ive recently found out you dont need individual insurance for all your stuff
you just need contents
just say you dropped it in something after a distraction
unless it smells nice from the wash
also fixing the s2 is quiet costly i got a qoute of £179 for just the screen no including labour
after my wife stood on hers and smashed the glass no damage to the screen part but its supposidly all one part

That's hugely overpriced. I have a friend who smashed the screen on their s2 and it cost them well below the hundred pound mark all inclusive.

The quote was from a main shop not a little one off phone repair one that could be why :-(

My insurance is covering it though
