I'm beginning to wish I'd never looked in this forum :shake:
I've been selling off some of my film gear because I know I'm not going to use it. It's just going to sit on a shelf until I fancy a change one day, then it might get a film through it and it's back on the shelf. Makes sense to sell, use the money elsewhere. It'll keep t'missus happy too. Then I read JSER's thread on back to basics and maximust's on a basic film camera...
And now I really want a Nikon FM.
The FM's the camera I wanted when I bought my first OM, except I couldn't find one at the time. I've used one, briefly, in the past and still can't shake that feeling of precision engineering and quality. I'd be happy with a couple of primes, no need to build a system while I've got my T90.
It's got to be an FM though. Partly because my first SLR was an FG and I wanted to trade up to an FM back then before I was seduced by the auto-wizardry on more modern cameras. And partly because I can remember an article in Practical Photography where they ran over an FM with a tank on Salisbury Plain and it still functioned perfectly.
Ah well, off to the bay, I guess. I'm my own worst enemy.
