My sister in law asked me why it is of late a lot more than normal web pages are not loading up on her laptop when browsing, also sometimes she cannot bookmark stuff. Now I know jack about that side of things other than check her security settings. However after mentioning to my mate who does a lot of IT stuff for people, his words to me were "you know your about the tenth person to have asked me that in the last few days. My reply was jokingly I expect someone has diverted all systems power to check out security over the net in preperation of the G20, of course he who is always believing in conspricay replies, "you know there could be some truth there"
Fact? or fiction?

Not sure.

Wasn't Conflicker also supposed to be going live today? I remember reading that it was due to start communicating to servers at some point today, but so far I can't find a single news article to say whether or not that has actually happened.

Another possible issue (related to G20 I guess) is a lot of people who would normally be working in London today will be working from home, so initial nodes (ie, your entry point to the internet) might be a little more congested than normal, while people on corporate backbones might be quicker as there is less traffic there. Of course, that's wild speculation, but fairly believable...

Thats true DJ, also remember seeing on here somewhere people complaining about connections dropping etc.

I mentioned G20 in an email to a friend in Poland. Undelivered for 72 hours

You got a Polish friend who is still living in Poland?
Whats the world coming to eh? ;)

He was seriously put out when Bush Snr visited Warsaw in 1989 and he had to have his Old Town apartment given the once-over by US personnel.

And what the Frigging hell did they expect to find?:lol::lol:

Borscht bombs and vodka molotovs?

They've also got a big cactus that's been in the family since before WWII, but the Chernobyl disaster didn't make it feel too well (they say), so it was maybe less good as a weapon ;)
