I'm in the shopping mall now with money buying a hole in my pocket. So far I've looked at a Sony RX100 V, a Nikon 35mm 1.8G ED and a power bank for the one time in my life I've ever allowed myself to run out of battery.

I came for coffee to calm down but realised I've now had four cups before 11am and my GAS is now worse....

Well, it would be rude to leave without at least the 35mm after all of that!

You say that James, but what happens if my battery dies during the 5 minutes walk home? The power bank is surely a must!!!

Are holes expensive??? ;)

I have a mk1 sony rx100, it does get some use and it does produce nice enough images ... but it doesn't get as much use as I thought it would.

I have a few "GAS" issues too just now ... I've always wanted a Coolpix A and/or a DF - I quite fancy a DF with a 35mm on the front but it is not exactly a pocketable camera, that is where the Coolpix A comes ... oh, and then there is the 105mm f1.4 ....(and the 58 f1.4 but I won't mention that)

I have that 58.....yeah, that was a GAS purchase too :D

A spare battery rather than a power bank. Nod's law would mean that if I had the power bank in my pocket and ran out of battery, the required lead would be at home! Only 2 of my cameras can be charged using a power bank anyway.

Assuming this is for your camera ... as you have run out once, I doubt that you will let it happen again so I'd ditch this as an idea. Buying an extra battery may be a better option IDK ...

That much coffee will give you the runs, never mind GAS :D

I'm satisfying mine by looking at ancient manual lenses and adapters.

Just tell yourself that you will come back and buy it the following day. I find that this helps a lot and I end up forgetting all about it. It just shows that I didn't really want the damn thing to start with.

I've got some good news on that front.

Thanks to the support I received here on this very thread I ended up in starbucks (fizzy water, no more coffee) and ended up finding a used 35mm in tip top condition for sale a few miles away from me. Saving me about £100 on the retail price, with warranty. Just waiting for a call back from the chap when he gets out of his meeting.

G.A.S satisfied, money saved. Thanks TP!

I'm a bit late now, but next time you have GAS stop messing about and get the 200mm f2 :D

I've had a bad dose of GAS lately, a 300mm f4, 85mm art and looking at camera bodies now. Ouch
