Hi everyone.

I have gotten back into photography and my OH bought me a Canon 1300D for Christmas, I used to have the 1100D, both are great entry level cameras.

What I am wondering is, in the future, when I outgrow my camera, what would be a suitable upgrade, factoring in the fact that we're on an extremely low budget.

I was looking at the Canon 1d mark 3, which I know has a much faster continuous shooting speed, but, not full frame, which would be my ideal camera, but I think full frame cameras are going to be well out of my price range.

Or would you guys suggest sticking with my 1300D and just improve my photography skills ?

Thanks for your help.

Canon 5D2 or a 5D3.

I sold two 5D3 to MBP last week at a total cost of £1500 so they are like £750. Conditions I thought was good cosmetically, just high shutter count (130k/150k) but thats barely over 50% of its projected life at 250k. A lot of camera for £750.

Again, anything over £300 would be waaaay out of my reach, my existing camera was £299 and I saw the 1d mark 3 on mpb.com for £319, was considering part exchanging my 1300d for that, but, wasn't sure if it would really be an upgrade.

I'd advise thinking about what you are going to take pictures of and the end result you want and using that as a starting point.

I'd start with two basic questions.
- What do I want to take pictures of (and a related question) and in what conditions?
and
- Am I going to print and if so how large or am I going to display my pictures electronically, again how large?

These two basic things should help you decide what gear you want to enable you to achieve the end result you want.
