Why is it that you never seem to go to a funeral and then they all come along at once

Time to worry when its your own :'(

I'd like a low key funeral.

I'll maybe just have the can-can performed before my airtight coffin is shot into space.

The only problem might be if I got hit by an asteroid and floated round earth half dressed and deshrevilled, forever - that would be embarrassing!

Nicki i know what you mean.
Most of my family have now past but they did so within a couple of years of each other... was a sad time.
Hope the day went well etc.

Flaming heck  just heard of another friend of my mums that has died, and he was close to my late father.

We have had three family members pass over in the last twelve months, two at 72 and one at 60.
Sad thing is, the last one was a real fine chap and always good for a laugh at family meets, went down in a matter of weeks. He will be missed by many, the church was packed with standing room only.:'(
Makes you think about living for today, sorry to hear of your sad news but try not to let it get you down too much.

My Mum (who's in her early seventies) realised the only time all the cousins met was at funerals as another one of them had moved on, so they decided to have a party and all meet for a good reason. Thought it was a really nice idea.

It's for reasons like that and the "global family" that I get asked to photograph funerals.

Obviously not the service, but the cortege (may be unusual), the flowers and the wake afterwards.

Sometimes supply a photo montage of family snaps of the persons life on a wide mount for people to sign and leave messages. This is framed afterwards.

Indeed. Some of the most precious photographs I own are the flowers I took at my Dad's funeral. I wasn't in a fit state to appreciate everything at the time but 18 years on, I really enjoy looking at the pictures
