Full screen in win 10

Hi all,
Got a strange problem on my win 10 desktop. Windows will not fit the monitor, there is an inch thick black band round the edge of the monitor. The wierd thing is it was ok yesterday!
The monitor is a Dell 24 inch ultrasharp connected with HDMI cable - no matter what I try it won't fit the screen! Any ideas?

Think there was something about this before?

Try your monitor menu and select hdmi.
 
What happens if you change the resolution ?
 
Try changing the scaling factor in your graphics card control software. to 100% (as in Gramps link).


I've had this happen several times usually when running old games.
 
Will try that tomorrow Gramps!

Mr Grubby- if I lower the rest to 1200x900 it goes full screen but looks grainy!

Zendog- I only have on board graphics ! So no control as such
