Fujifilm s8000fd some urgent help

I am looking at one on an auction which finishes in 30 minutes ! The mode wheel is broken, can this be replicated on the digital menu button ?

Can it be mended ?

how much of a bargain is it?
the best advice is to steer clear of damaged repairables unless you already have one and want to make 1 good out of the 2.
unless it is silly cheap run away

must be the one on fleabay.. at £60 with 8 mins to go i'd raid the back of the sofa and get one that works
