Would like to get peoples opinions on which was to go on the above cameras.

I have the 6500fd at the min and thought it was perfect for 5 months - the quality has now deteriorated and needs to be sent away for checking / repair for 4 weeks!!!

Since I cannot be without a camera as i take photographs for a football league each week, I am thinking of getting a digital with a 18 x zoom.

Both fit the bill but do i stick with Fuji or change???

Welcome.

The vast majority of users here use DSLRs. We do have many members who use compacts and bridge cameras of the type you're looking for, but it's a bit of pot luck in finding a member who has any personal knowledge of the cameras you've mentioned, there are so many variants of these types of camera out there

Since you're obviously familiar with the Fuji, here's a link to an in depth review of the Olympus...

You may get lucky and someone with personal knowledge will pop up and comment. :)

Thank you - yes i thought that the forum is for real cameras - not the cheap imitations that I use, but was hoping some kind person may have one for quick snapping.

PPl with similar cams to me - just dont have a clue!!

There is nothing wrong with point and shoots cameras, and Dslr's don't suit everybody. They shouldn't be condemed as being as a cheap imitations or indeed not a real camera.

I still find myself using my little Canon Ixus more than my 5d.

Questions on specific models are always hard to address, in the past I've had fuji and olympus compacts in both film and digital, while the fuji's tended to offer more functions, the olympus' have given better lenses and in my very limited experience on them less lag.
The fuji I had also had an electronic view finder which was rather poor for sports photography.

Thanks

I will maybe upload some of my shots in future so the quality that i can get on my 5600fd can be seen. Nowhere near dslr of course but soem of the best shots i can find on ladies footy sites.
