Thinking of getting one of these to use with my X-E2S. Grateful for any user comments on it before I make a final decision. I'm looking to use it more or less as a permanent fixture!

I personally went for the 1.4 but tbh if you can live with f2 and slightly worse optics you gain smaller lens, WR and faster AF so its a great alternative.
 
I am also interested in this lens & cannot decide which of the 35mm to go for. The information above is very useful - thanks
 
Its a lovely lens - very fast and almost silent so much better than the f1.4 in that respect. Its almost perfect on my XT-10 and I've been very pleased with the results so far.

For some reason they don't look quite as sharp on flickr as they do on LR - its definitely a keeper but I keep wanting to try the Samyang 12mm but can't afford both !

I've done side by side comparison with my 1.4 and I don't think the optics are inferior, If anything the micro contrast is better in the newer lens, it's much faster and silent.
 
In every test I have seen the f2 is better in every way except perhaps wide open. Where he difference is marginal.
