I've just seen a fujica up for sale locally in great condition for £15 but... The battery in it has corroded badly. Is this something that's easy to fix?

£15 with a 50mm lens seemed good except for the battery issue

Chris

If the terminals will clean up then go for it..... rub the dried corrosion off with emery paper or similar to ensure clean contacts for the batteries..

Tbh you've got little to lose really...if the lens is good nick and you find the body is a non starter then I would have thought you could regain the £15 outlay, possibly more by selling the lens unless you have another camera you could use it on, in which case you win all ways round.

Yes I bought a Minolta 7000 on ebay with a lens all in for £28 delivered, the body turned out to be fault but i sold the lens on its own and broek even. in fact I have the Minolta case for free:lol:

So I bit the bullet - bought the camera and will see about sorting out the battery. But.... when I went in they also had some lenses too! Here's the full set:

Fujica AZ-1 with Fujinon 1.8 55mm lens in stunning condition (other than battery!) Also came with official case.

It's all as good as new, the owner even noted down all the serial numbers in the front of the manual. Can't wait to get out and try it!

Gulp! Those look absobloominglutely wonderful!

I know! I'm sat here shocked at such a lucky find! The battery compartment came clean in about 15 seconds too so it's all perfect. I'm actually embarrassed when I think how much I paid too.

A definite winning purchase.....good for you!

well worth the money a great looking kit.
