Hi Fuji users. I have a question for those of you who have had or have the XT2.

When I first bought the Xt2 when it was first released I am sure the I could change aperture via the wheel. I have set the camera up as it should be. COMMAND-AUTOiso-AUTOss-C and AUTO on the lens aperture ring. This allowed me to use the front dial to change aperture.

However, I have found after a couple of firmware updates that this no longer works. Has anyone else found this problem.
(Or have I got this completely wrong and it never worked)

In the menu, using a lens with aperture, APERTURE SETTING is greyed out.

Have I gone completely mad thinking F-S.S-ISO previously worked? Because it doesn't work now for F.

Thanks in advance.JPEG_20200824_131303_5391908876299390096.jpgJPEG_20200824_131406_8843087733520452763.jpg

I see you have your exp comp. dial set to "C". Does this mean that your front wheel now controls exp comp. instead of aperture?
It has to be set to C then aperture, s.s and exp.comp appear on the wheel menu. But for some reason aperture can't be changed. I thought that when I first got the xt2 , aperture could be changed via the wheel.
(Or my memory is completely mush and you never could.)

I'm really confused..... "Wheel menu"???

Yeah...push the wheel in and the choices come up.

F-SS-ISO

SS can ISO be altered F not.

I thought originally when I bought it 2/3 years ago that I used to change the aperture via wheel.

I wasn't aware that there was a wheel menu to select between the various settings, that's something I've learned today!

If I set my X-T2 up with SS=T, EXP=C and AP=A like you have, then the front wheel button switches between SS and EXP.
Whatever variations of settings I pick, I can't get the front wheel to select the aperture, and the menu option is greyed out.

Do you have another lens that doesn't have an aperture ring? I know that the Fuji lenses without them can only be controlled with the wheel on the body. Perhaps this option is only enabled on lenses without an aperture ring, and you remember it working with a different lens?

Personally, I just can't see the point of controlling SS or aperture on the wheel when you can do it on the SS control & lens. I will add, that I don't own any lenses without an aperture ring, and I do use the wheel if I want a longer exposure than 30 secs.

I really should move on my T2's and make way for another T3 or an H1.

I use this feature a lot on my XE-3 but if the lens has an aperture ring you can't change aperture with the wheel.

I use both ways on the T3. The reason I posted the question was because I thought I used to do it that way on the T2. It's no big deal. I thought I was losing my marbles.

I just find using the wheel in dark conditions easy. Anyway I am relived that my T2 isn't broken.
