Fuji X100s and X20 on the way!!

the black "x20" just looks like an x10 with "x 20" photoshopped onto it.

Im surpised theyre replacing the x10 so fast and with a new sensor. Colour me dubious, i'll beleive it when i see it.

How is it "so fast"?
Unless you know the product lifecycle or production stock levels, who's to say they're not bang on target to release the next revision?
With no official pictures of the devices, it's not exactly that much of a stretch to think someone PS'd an X10 so they have an image to go along with the text.
It's all pretty much par for the course - you shouldn't be so surprised.

The x20 looks sexy in silver. If they but the evf on there i would bite there hand off.

because the x10 is barely a year old and has one of the best sensors out there, so why replace it so soon. it was also being designed and manufatured while all the troubles in the far east were going on, earthquakes / tsunami's etc so to exepct fuji to have a full on R&D going on for new models at the same time is stretching it a bit. Its like nikon or canon bringing out a new FF body this year. Whats the point?

Posting up faked pictures doesnt do the authenticity of a rumour any favours at all.

Yeah pretty par for the course for rumour sites though, youre right there.

*edit* id certainly trade mine in for a silver x20 though if thats what they look like :)

Well not long to wait until Monday to see if they are accurate ;)

I think given the number of reports now these are almost certain to be true

Maybe the rx100 as taken its crown and they want it back.

well im not going to complain :) it just seems a weird business decision.

Not really, a year is a long time in technology :)

The x10 and x100 will still remain great cameras

Looks very nice, shame LCD is a bit low res, only secret remaining is the price

The x100 had an original price of £999 on release, I'd be surprised if the new one came in any lower.
I'm wondering if they can translate the proclaimed worlds quickest focus speeds to the x-pro1 and x-e1 ?

Is there even another APS-C non-interchangeable lens compact?
World's fastest AF (*1)

*1 Fujifilm research as of November 2012. Compared with other compact digital cameras equipped with an APS-C sensor and a non-interchangeable lens based on CIPA standards and conducted in High Performance mode.

Looks like the X100s still has no distance/dof scale on the lens. I'm amazed that a camera aimed at the "enthusiast" market misses something so obvious.

It's because the focus ring is actually electronic. You can spin it around lap after lap! The gauge is in the view finder. Not the worst idea ever as it allows a seriously compact lens but the execution in reality is terribly slow. Because of that I can't see this pixel peep function being of use for anything but still macro stuff.

I expect it will be a similar high starting price, as is the case with all new gear launches.

The X20’s bright optical viewfinder features a newly-developed Digital Trans Panel. This displays the shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focusing area and other shooting information perfectly clearly, even in low-light conditions. What’s more, the X20’s Advanced Optical Viewfinder synchs with the zoom lens, so that users can accurately compose shots using the viewfinder, even when the focal length is constantly changing.

I'm 'avin it!!!!!!!!!!

well my ghast is well and truley flabbered :)

x10 for sale, althogh its probably destroyed the x10 second hand market.

Just hope the viewfinder really is more use this time round, at least that the lens doesnt cut off the bottom right corner of the vf when zoomed! And finders crossed on quality control this time round too.

I'll be interested to see how the x20 compares to the RX100, I'm still favoring the RX100 for pocket-ability and all in one solution over the prime lens of the x20, but still interesting to see :)

Que? It's 28-112mm.

Cool, I've been interested in the X100 since it came out, but it's supposedly slow AF and 35mm lens were always the stumbling block. Now that I'm enjoying my 35mm prime on full frame more, I think that this could be right up my street. Wonder if they'll do it in all black?

yes if the rx100 had a viewfinder it would be my 1st choice.

Time to sell my X100, quicker AF would be worth the price alone as it's my only major bugbear. A nicer rear screen, better menu system and a few other tweaks wouldn't hurt either.

I'm rather sceptical over how much 'better' the AF will be. I think even with this s version you will need to have the deliberate style of shooting to get great pictures.

I love my X100 as it is and don't really think the incremental update will add too much. The new sensor will also bring the annoyance of not having great RAW support. But given that Fuji has pretty much nailed the JPEG engine, maybe that isn't totally a bad thing....

Oh to add about the X20 - looks great, but its huge! Really think that the RX100 has set a high standard for others to catch up to - even with the faster lens on the X20, shallow depth of field will be tough. Using compacts to maximise depth of field I think the higher DR from the RX100 will keep it on top for now. Also the size is much more to my liking :)

Not really when you set it against it's comparable opposition; ie the G15 and p7100.

I thought so, but dpreview made this comment ' Canon's Powershot G15 which is distinctly more svelte and offers a longer zoom, or the Olympus XZ-2 with its tilting rear screen and optional electronic viewfinder'.

I'm pleased that the WCL-X100 is still compatible, I just bought one knowing that the X100s would come out but knew that it since the converter was only released less than a year ago it was likely to remain compatible. It would be interesting to see whether they would bring out a teleconverter - even if its only a 2.8 or f4 I think people would be interested....

What makes me smile is the various people on the Internet who said the leaked images were obvious photoshop fakes, haha :)

can you let me know whose dad was bigger when you two have finished.
