Fuji x100/S/T/F Owners Thread

I smuggled my x100s into prison last weekend.

My travel kit is an X100S + WCL + TCL plus a few filters, works for me and is discrete especially in the streets of S E Asia where I can be found mooching about.
It's a brilliant travel combination -I know I'l miss mine once it sells! I got some really nice shots of San Francisco with exactly that setup when I was there for work earlier in the year and it was no problem at all to carry around all day.

Just by the by, stocks of X100T seem to be pretty low on most of the sites I trust. Digitalrev have it marked as 'discontinued'! One site said stock will be available mid-October. Deliberate ploy to push XF23mm f/2 sales or is there something happening that I've missed?

Expect an X200 shortly, with the new sensor, not announced at photokina, but an announcement in next few months (I would think)

Yep I think they've used all the new sensors available to fulfil X-T2 pre-orders. Reckon the X100F will be announced early next year.

I'm stuck between choosing an X100S or OM-D E-M10 II.. I know they're aimed at pretty different markets but just looking for a small light setup to replace my 5DII (I rarely use it nowadays) for out and about/travel/family ocassions.
The OMD is a much more versatile camera but I love the look of the X100S and the quality of sooc jpegs (I take an ageee to process photos when I shoot family ocassions/travel so I'd like to think I could just upload straight off). Hmm..

I love my X100S for that reason sooc jpegs are superb, while traveling I can send them to my iPad via eyefi card and send to family & friends so they can enjoy my trip too.

Stretch your budget and get a X100T - the handling differences make it for me. But any X100 is a joy to use - the OM is not- very fiddly, tiny (to read) menus.

Yeah, not a great time to buy an X100T unless you can snag a deal second-hand from someone who's moved to the X-T2/X-Pro2. Wait for the X100F to be properly announced and you should be able to get a decent price on the older models (assuming you don't convince yourself you need the new one!!).

Haven't really looked at the X100T as I didn't think there was as much difference as between the X100 and the X100S, and it's ~£250 more.
Would you say the lack of stabilisation is an issue at all? And how is the video? I don't plan to do anything serious with it, but maybe some random videos here and there.

My classified privilege got revoked since the update as I used it too much without making other posts. :p:( No idea how many more posts I need to make until I get it back.

I make it about 76 more posts. :)

According to the good folks over at the Fuji X Forum the x100T has been discontinued.

Interestingly their source is photorumors whose source is digitalrev, so hello to the photorumors guys I guess?

I've not had any issues with stabilisation - I'm happy using it up to ISO 3200 and some people are happy with it even higher, so that's not really a huge issue. One thing that's common to all the X100 variants is that the lens is very slightly soft wide open. IT looks good for portraits, but for general use I normally stop it down to 2.8 and am happier with it.

Video is useful - I've grabbed some nice footage of the kids for various things. Fuji has not been known for amazing cameras for videography until now, so it's not going to amaze you if you are coming for a more dedicated video rig, but it's decent for general day to day stuff. Even ignoring the fact that I've got one on the classifieds, I'd recommend thinking seriously about the X100T over the 100s - there are lots of small but nice refinements. Otherwise stick to the original which still renders some beautiful images.

They are all great cameras but I recently "upgraded" from the original to the T because of the many, small handling improvements/wifi/Classic Chrome/USB charging and, for me most importantly, face detection - just makes photos of my kids so much easier, especially as they are getting much faster now!
Personally I don't see any difference between the sensors - maybe I just need to spend more time pixel-peeping!(-:
Lack of stabilisation not an issue for me.

I forgot about face detection! I agree, it's fantastic with the kids.

With the original being a 12Mpix Bayer, it definitely had a slightly different output. I really liked it - I found it easier to process coming from Bayer sensor cameras. Now I'm used to the XTrans it's not such an issue, but it did contribute to the learning curve.

Oh cool, thanks. Less than I thought :)

My bro is taking my 5D, but I'm not in any rush to get a replacement. I looked up the T and all the little improvements does look pretty good. Maybe I'll wait for the next gen to come out so it pushes the second hand price of the T down a bit.
It's slightly smaller than the E-M10 with 17mm 1.8 attached so that's another plus. I think I'm going to need to go into store to have a real handle on them as I keep thinking it's not actually that much bigger than the 5D + 40mm.

Video-wise, I've only really shot stuff off a 600D and GoPro, so as long as it's similar to them.

It's quite a lot smaller. See the comparison at :

Yeah I've seen that before. To me, viewing on screen it still seems not that big a difference. I'll just have to pop into jessops or something.

Looking for a x100 s or a cheap x100t for my dad for his holidays he hates evfs so wants this Fuji I owned the original x100 are the s and t a massive upgrade over original?

I never owned the original, but I had the X100S and sold it for the T, the T is faster focus, plus it has face detection. Wifi and of course classic chrome, which to be honest is the main reason I upgraded.

If I could get him a x100t for reasonable money it's a consideration I need to get him into jessops so he can see the physical size lol

I'm considering selling mine, but it's not easy as I love it. But since I got the X70 it hasn't been used. It's mint, bought from the Fuji refurb store, with 3200 clicks on it. Screen protector and UV filter from new. I've also got a nice Gariz half case, Lensmate thumb grip , Gordys strap and JJC lens hood, it really looks the business !

I'll let him go and have a look tomorrow as jessops is 2 mins from us... potentially if he want a x100 though he will be interested ;-)

The X100 will be significantly cheaper!

Sorry I misread your post lol

Owen I posted a reply on your sony thread
