Fuji x100/S/T/F Owners Thread

Just bought myself an early(ish) Xmas present today with an X100F.... Had X100, S and T over the past few years and tried an F a while ago before I sold all my Fuji gear and bought a Df and D750 Nikon... still miss something really portable, even though the Nikon kit is just so good... but I just can't resist the lure of Fuji :D

Bought one of these to go with the F - I previously had a Peak Designs cuff on the last one (and included it in the sale of the camera :().
Not sure if I like it - feels nicer when on the wrist and I like the little pleather flap that sits behind the eyelet to prevent damage to the body though.

Looks good but I can’t get on with wrist straps.

Early days. So far so good. There are some nice handling features which I'm liking. But I'll reserve judgement until I've used my X100T for a while and on more challenging subjects.:)

I have one of these on my F and TBH I don’t like it and it cheapens the look of the camera.
I will be switching back to leather

Any recommendations on a leather strap? I’ll use my Peak Design cuff for now but would prefer a leather one.

Cheers Dave

Hmm, buyers remorse may have struck. Amazon returns label requested :oops: :$

?? I guess it’s better than taking a few frames and flogging it at a big loss.

You’ve got to be happy with what you get. It won’t suit everyone, no matter what reviewers and peers say.

I think I was expecting too much as usual. Despite hankering after a small, pocketable, high quality camera I find in reality the iPhone gets the job done and the most use.
I felt a complete lack of excitement opening the box and handling the camera.

I’ve been fondling mine. I’ve got a warm and fuzzy feeling.;)

Even if a phone is better I just don't like using them to take pictures with. I don't like back screen shooting, I don't like prodding the screen to focus and shoot and I don't like arms length shooting. Give me a camera with a VF and a shutter button even if it's not as good.

I'll be keeping my eye on the Amazon Warehouse for a cheap customer return then :D

I'm already in love with my worn x100s despite only having shot about 20 frames with it LOL

Oh gawd what have I done - my head is all over the place. Wondering whether I should have returned it now. Also borrowed the d800 and 50/85 1.4 primes from work to play with over the next few days - I need to decide..... iphone, fixed lens, small Mirrorlss or full phat Nikon DSLR.

Back to basics...what do you shoot most ?

I had the x100T...bloody loved that camera but a change from m43 meant it had to go to free up pennies.

Also loved m43 but the base noise and noise at lowish iso ( even 800 ) still isn’t comparable to a DSLR.

A world of compromise

I used 595strapco for mine - handmade in the UK. Great service too

Thanks Dunc - Have taken a look. Certainly something to consider.

They're great. I've had 5 or 6 of them now and keep them on all my cameras. For the smaller rangefinder type cameras they're the perfect width and weight and made from bridle leather they'll be passed on through the generations, literally. Well worth the very reasonable price.

Gone with your recommendation. Thanks for the pointer.

Anyone here able to directly compare the X100F with the X-T2? I keep seeing reference to a 23mm lens on the X-T2 and wondered how they may be similar or differ.
Thanks

I have an X100F and an X-T2 + 23mm F1.4, I haven't owned the 23mm F2 - I shoot approx 50% of my output at 23mm!!

After owning a previous X100, I thought that the lens would be the real limiting factor on the X100F, but the 'extra' sharpness of X-Trans3 works really well with the X100F 23mm lens. Yes it is soft (certainly towards edges and corners) at F2 (and my 23mmF1.4 is as sharp at F2 as the X100F is anywhere!), but it still a really great combo. Its really compact which makes it an easier 'carry camera' and my choice for short breaks/city visits etc. It is also a lot more discrete than an X-T2 + lens.

Its a bit horses for courses:-

The X100F is a great all round package and one that I would be quite happy with as my only camera

If you want WR and the fastest AF then XT-2 + 23mmF 2 would be the way to go

If you want the best IQ but don't mind the bulk then the X-T2 + 23mm F1.4 is the weapon of choice.

I’d echo this. Only a few days into X100F ownership but certainly seeing the two 23’s as complimentary to one another. They are different tools for different purposes in my book.

It will be the 35 f2 that will be finding a new home.
