OK keep going in circles now.....:bang:
I have decided to sell my Nikon D90 and lenses as we have another child on the way and enough stuff to carry as it is. Every time we go out I say to my wife "i'll take the camera" and she groans.......
I basically love the IQ from the D90 and I mainly use the 18-200mm VR lens. I have the camera primely set up in A mode as I like the ability to change the aperture to suit the focal depth I want from the image. Next I use M mode, particularly with the flash as I generally set up the flash output and balance the exposure selecting higher shutter speeds and playing with the flash output. Not sure why but hey!
I want to maintain my love of photography but have a need to have a more compact way of doing it. I have considered some of the 4/3 systems and CSC but decided maybe that the bulk would only slightly be reduced due to the lenses. I could be convinced otherwise though.

So I have started looking at larger sensor compact cameras and wonder which one is best for me. I will mainly use it for photos of my children, so the faster the focusing the better. I would like to keep, as much as possible, the ability to blur the background but does a f2.8 lens make much difference on a sensor this size. I do like the idea of a panoramic function (Love Photosynth on iPhone). IQ is of importance as I do print images out bigger than 6x4.
So the X10 is very appealing, the style appeals and some of the images posted on here seem excellent, with reports of A3 prints being possible. Will blend in loverly with my Lubitele 11 when I get chance to use it.
Then the extra reach of the P7100 is appealing.
I looked at the ZX1, the IQ seems excellent on DPreview but not convinced, just have an inner niggle over it for some reason.
Are there any cameras I am missing and any input/experience appreciated.
Many thanks Jon
