I own a Fuji X-T10, a little camera that I love but despite that, I chose to go down the Canon FF route instead of entirely Fuji as I was already heavily invested in Canon L. I've been wanting a back up to the 5div though and a replacement for my 7D. I've pondered over second Canon bodies for a while now, but long story short, not got one yet. My curiosity though did get the better of me, I'd been wondering how Canon glass would perform on the Fuji, adapted of course. I bought the Viltrox (not the dumb version) adapter last last year.

I'll be honest, performance isn't great, IQ etc is fine but AF is just short of woeful, it hunts, misses focus, tells me I'm focused when I'm not and forget anything moving. It's fair enough but....

I've been reading up on it and the problem (unsuprisingly) is the Fuji AF system on the T10. It's got me thinking, the later models, (XT3, XH1 etc) had a better AF system (DPAF) and this might improve things.

I could trade my T10 for a newer Fuji body but is it really worth it? I don't expect the same blazing performance that L gives on a Canon body but a noticeable improvement would satisfy me.

Probably just better off getting a second Canon mirroless body maybe, like an M5? Or, wait on the rumoured crop R that 'might' be coming, but that could be an eternal wait, eternity is something I don't have.

If you want to use canon lenses on fuji and expect fast AF you're wasting your money. Buy native fuji mount lenses or buy a canon or a recent Sony and mc11 for mixed to decent results.

Must say, I've just checked the prices of secondhand Fuji bodies like the XT2 and you might be right.(y)

It is very possible to get decent AF using Canon lenses on Fuji, you can get the fringer pro adapter. I had the mk1 and using some older EF and EF-S lenses never had any issues with AF. Of course, the adapter is £300 new, but can be found now and then used for £150-200.

It is much better than the Viltrox adapter offerings for Fuji [I had the Viltrox for M43 and it was decent enough, not sure why they can't get it right for fuji since they are now making Fuji mount lenses too!]

Twist is right, don't waste your money. I'd go for an XH-1 personally, fantastic value for money used or refurbed and faster AF than the XT-2, not much difference in price.
