Hi,

With the new Lightroom 2018 out now, is it better for raw than the older version was?

This has been dealt with several times within the X-T2 thread, and even today I posted a load of information about processing Fuji RAWs

In essence though, before the X-Pro2 was released, first X-Trans3 sensor, Fuji worked with Adobe to get better results, this has resulted in different Lightroom processing being required for X-Trans3 against the earlier versions.

Adobe have continued to improve X-Trans processing ( 1 and 2 ), but many prefer other options for these sensors.

Personally I've not noticed a difference between the latest CC and the previous version.

I know raw isn't best in Lightroom I was merely asking if the new version is any better as don't want to subscribe and install and it still be as bad.

There are differences but I doubt you would notice them in any meaningful way. Every version they bring out seems to make small incremental changes for the better when processing Fuji raws..

I have noticed that you no longer need to set detail at 100% with the earlier XTrans sensors. in fact it seems best not to do so.
