Fuji X-E1/X-E2/X-E2S/X-E3 Owners Thread

Finally finished 72 days of overtime at work, so time to get back into my poor x-e1 which I have abandoned this whole time. Ordered the 60mm during this time and only had a few chances to use it so far, but I'm impressed, yes I knew the limitations with the autofocus, but apart from that the image quality is spot on. Funny as I have now ended up settling with the original 3 lens', however the wallet emptying bug is there and I'm going to treat myself to either the 14mm or 23mm, I just really can't decide.. HELP! Anyone have any opinion on which one?

Here's a few shots I have managed to get with the 60mm so far.

I'm finding my X-E1 very useful for Jpegs : the DRIVE button is quick for switching between burst/ISO-bracket/EV-bracket and even a very nice DynamicRangeBracket ... but I never see any of this mentioned so maybe I'm the only one using the stuff!?
And I've narrowed the film style thingy down to Astia all the time. Nothing else is as nice for realistic but pleasant colours.

A hard one their both great lens, how wide do you feel the need to go ?

Simon, this is what I keep asking myself, one day I'm convinced that the 18mm is wide enough for now, then another day I'll see a stunning shot from the 14mm and convince myself otherwise. The 23mm is calling purely because I love the focal length and it's a bit of a do-it-all lens... Decisions decisions!

Buy both :D

Or the 10-24mm zoom if you dont need the fast apertures :)

If saving for a house wasn't the priority then I definitely would have both :p
Unfortunately the 10-24mm doesn't really do it for me when you see the quality of the other two on their own, think it's going to have to be the 23mm, damn you Fuji.. :D

Its a hard one,but the reviews on the 10-24mm are very good, and i am pleased with mine :)

Well after much deliberation I've ordered a sony a6000 so my x-e1 may be in the classifieds soon. Main reason for the possible switch (I'm keeping the x-e1 until I'm sure I like the a6000) is the more budget friendly range of lenses for the E-mount such as the sigma primes. I just can't afford to buy any extra lenses for my x-mount system which is a shame because I do really love the X system but neither an upgraded body or more lenses are within my limited budget.

My heart says keep the the fuji but my brain has told me to go the more affordable route. I ordered the new camera tonight so will be with me in a few days.

AESamuel - let us know how the A6000 compares to your X-E1. Would be interested to know how the AF speed compares.

Hi folks, having and my XE2 and 35mm for c.2 months I'm finding I really enjoy using the combination but I do find I sometimes miss the 23mm from my x100 (but the focussing really annoyed me on the x100) so I'm torn on what to do next.

I can't decide between getting a used x100s or saving for the 23mm or wide zoom, I'd appreciate your thoughts (hopefully this is the right place to ask, I've read oodles of views on the net but not asked hear).

Also, possibly a stupid question but on the Xe2 how do I know the AE-L button is actually locking an exposure - I'm still trying to get to grips with the way the fuji cameras work and the AF-L is easy to spot with the green box but my brain can't get round how to get an exposure lock.

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

I've gone for Fujifilm X-E2 Expert Shield :) will let you know what I think...
The expert shield is really good (a touch expensive though) - the first one didn't go on too well but the company were great in sending out a replacement FOC :)

I would go for the 23mm lens, save carrying two camera if its just the focal length your missing :)

So I just bought a 35mm f1.4, I dont have a body for it yet but im hoping to pick up an XE-1 on Monday.
Im hoping it will live up to my expectations!
The only annoying thing is for the price of the XE-1 and 35mm, I could have bought an XE-2 body and got the lens free but I had to buy it by the end of last week!

Ok, so I have pretty much decided on getting an XE2. Thing is I am unsure as to if I get a UK model or a grey import. I'm looking for the XE2 and 18-55 kit bundle and the price difference is around £200 between UK and grey import. Now, I recently purchased a 70D from Jessops as with the cash back the difference between UK and import was minimal enough to justify having a UK model. Turns out I had a faulty copy and having a local store made it very easy to get a exchange and then a refund.

Here's the thing.... with the XE2 the difference is enough to make me consider a grey import from Digital Rev. The only thing holding me back is if I run into any issues, it may be a pain to get them sorted. Does the XE2 suffer from any known issues and has anyone had issues that have necessitated sending the camera back? Anyone had experience with the after sales support from somewhere like Digital Rev?

You could try the Fuji refurb shop gets you 12 month warranty. Use the code Paypal12 for a 10% discount.

I am a FUJIFILM certified refurbished camera.

I come with the same full box contents as a brand new model and a full 12 month warranty covering any failure that occurs due to a manufacturing defect.

What is a refurbished camera?

From time to time, limited quantities of FUJIFILM digital cameras are returned to us by UK retailers. Every camera that is returned in this way is extensively inspected and tested by FUJIFILM's trained technicians.

Refurbished digital cameras may exhibit some minor cosmetic imperfections such as scratches, marks or discolourations but these in no way impair camera operation.

Could have been returned for any number of reasons I guess. I had an X100 from them which was perfect. I would have had my X-E2 from them as well but they were out of stock at the time so I went to DR.
