Hi guys,

Sorry for this thread which, admittedly, doesn't make much sense (I am a newbie after all. Forgive me). Straight to the point: am I too late to find a X-M1 still new (a X-A1 might do too, depending on price)?

I don't have much money to spend on a camera and, as far as I understood, these are (were?) among the best value-for-money camera out there. Is it worth for me trying looking for a new ones to appear in a shop or online, or do you reckon I missed that train and only used ones are available by now?

You'll struggle to find a new one, I would think, but there are used ones on eBay. Also as we speak MPB have a used one for £114 in excellent condition and it will come with some warranty.

The price is good indeed.
Not sure how I feel about a used camera. It's hard to buy a used item when you cannot see it before...

Mpb are good and you have 6months guarantee,if they say excellent condition it should be.so buy with confidence,i and many others have bought seconds from them without issues and if you did have an issue they are better in my mind than wex at dealing with it

I have purchased a lot of my gear s/h without any problems from here on TP or reputable dealers who usually offer a returns policy if it doesn't meet your expectations.
Do you have a lens that will fit or are you thinking of using legacy lens with adapter ?
Im guessing its down to your budget what ever that is ?

I've bought used gear for years, cameras, lenses, tele converters, flash units etc Never had any issue. If you stick to only buying from sellers with 100% rating [20+ sales at least] who post images and point out any issue - you can't really go wrong. I just bought the XT-1 and 2 lenses used, across 3 different sellers. They all had legit ratings and were on those trading sites a few years. Good sellers like that won't risk their reputation to off something low priced.

Wow, thanks guys. That makes me feeling much more confident about buying used gear.

I will keep you posted. Unfortunately me and my wife have very different views on what camera we need so I might need to compromise :D

That price for a X-A1 body is reeeeally good though!

This is unlikely to change. Ever.

:woot:

I know! Right??

I suppose in a way she is right. There is no point in going straight from a Sony w320 to a pro-DSLR (nor I would want something that bulky), but I thought the X-A1/2 would be a good step up.

Anyway, I might have to "settle" for a good compact
