So before i jump in and buy a couple of S5's can anyone here advise as to how fast these are at clearing their buffer after taking large jpegs or Raw pics .. only had experience of the S2 pro which was ermmm .. Slow ! .. However im not really expecting it to be as fast as my nikon D80 but hope its a lot faster than the S2 pro is .. Also is there a big improvement in buffer speeds using such cards as Sandisk Ultra III's etc on the S5 .. ?

Would be using them mostly for Wedding work ..

thanks..

I'm using a 4Gig Ultra III and it's taking about 5 to 8 seconds to clear shooting RAW + Fine jpg, which isn't bad. The buffer's pretty big, just a bit slow, so it doesn't interrupt shooting, just the time you have to wait before you can preview shots.

Assuming you are shooting JPEG + RAW, each frame is about 29 megabytes (25 + 4), so you'll have about 4 to 5 seconds of green light per shot.

You can always take another shot while its writing to CF (you can't review the image during this time), the buffer is pretty big so you'll be fitting 8 to 9 shots before you start slowing down while the buffer clears.
