The Fuji GX680, has anyone used one?

I fancy one for doing architecture, with being able to tilt and rise the lens being useful.

Which are the best quality lenses to go for with the system. Thinking a range between 80mm and about 200mm

This is better than porn. But not chocolate. A beautiful piece of machinery that I've long wanted to get except for other requirements getting in the way.
 
Dear god I think I just did a little wee. How much would one of them set me back, that's lush.
 
About as flexible as rollfilm gets, lovely camera. Not exactly point and shoot, ***'.
 
The Fuji 680 are indeed fine cameras and do have some limited tilt and shift.

I have looked at one a few years ago and they are all electronic, fairly easy to use and can produce nice images.

However the kit above weighs 10Lbs+ and is really designed to be used in the studio. If you get one you will need a heafty tripod to mount it on.

They tend to cost around £400+ for a Mk1 and up to £1000+ for a nice MkIII version. Don't know what the difference is between the Mks are.

What's needed is a digital preview on a camera like this, something tweaked to film speeds that'll give a preview like a polaroid back used to. That way you can fire off endless warm-up shots before slotting a film frame through.

You can use them with a digital back ;)

(though it's not the full-size frame. Tsk)
 
As mentioned above by Nick they are extremely heavy. Having lugged one around the North Cornish coast, would never have another for landscape use.
However for Architecture where you can park nearby they are OK.
I found that I needed a 5 x 4 for better rendition of buildings I was photographing at the time and P/Xed it for an Ebony 45SU which even with four lenses was a lot easier to carry around. I am not sure when these were discontinued but it would probably be worth checking on servicing availability.

I'd be a bit careful and do a lot of reading before you dive in. I seem to recall complaints that it eats batteries and no rechargeable ones are available. I may be wrong but I also seem to recall that despite having the facility to connect to mains suppy, there's no mains connector available for it. I did consider one of these at one time and was put off by some of the complaints about running costs. It's been a while though so don't take what I say as gospel.

I borrowed an early model about 20 years ago. It was awesome. Not fior the faint hearted, quite a weight and needed a tripod:lol:. There were some complaints at the time as I recall about some of the lenses being a bit soft. That wasn't my expereince. I went down the Hasselblad route because I could hand hold but the Fuji was a stunning machine!

Yep, it's a beast. Added another back and Polaroid back recently.
Got a feeling my 410 head may have to be subbed for something heavier though.

Managed to get out of the garden with it only once so far. This is a 2shot pano.
1st taken with front shifted left and 2nd shifted right, excuse the poor stitch. You'll probably note that the light changed slightly between exposures.
good fun though.
