Fuji flash irritation!

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can sort out a minor irritation with flash on my x100t!

When I use my Canon gear I simply switch on the flash when I want it on.

With my Fuji I have the (excellent) external Nissin i40. To use flash I have to switch on the flash and instruct the camera to use flash. I then have to switch the setting on the camera off again afterwards otherwise the integral flash goes off if the Nissin is switched off.

Is this minor irritation something I have to live with or is there a way round it?

Can't help you with this one I'm afraid, but I can empathise as I always struggle to use my i40 on my xt10. There's always something that isn't quite right to enable it to work. Wish Fuji's were as simple to use with flash as my Nikons.
