Hi

I am looking to buy a portrait lens for my Fuji X-Pro2. I am wondering which lens would be best for this.

Thank you

How about deciding what focal length and aperture you want to shoot at and the look you're going for?

For example if you want to shoot at 100mm an 85 f1.8 is useless but if your priority is to shoot at f2 I doubt the zoom will do it.

I have the XF 56mm f1.2 & the XF 90mm f2.0 both make fabulous portrait lenses for both available light or studio portraits.
But the XF 50-140 f2.8 iOS will cover both these focal lengths and more adds WR and OIs and for less money if your buying new than buying say both primes !
Also BIM it is rather bigger than the other options and heavier, though it still balances well even on the small camera bodies.
Which ever route you take you won't be disappointed

I have the 50-140 f2.8 and it is fantastic for portraits. It's a very versatile lens in that it is great for other things apart from portraits, and the OIS is fantastic. I have briefly tested the 56 and 90 and they are great lenses also, but I would not swap my 50-140 for either.

Thank you for your advice, I hired the 56mm 1.2 apd and the 50-140mm 2.8 from lenspimp.com and I got to try them and I found that I love them both. I got the 50-140mm and I might buy the none apd version of the 56mm as it is cheaper.
