Hi
I seem to have a problem with the above lens, in P or A modes when altering the aperture( stopping down) the S/S increases as it should do, the aperture reading shows the lens stopping down but the exposure does not stay constant it simply overexposes.
This does not happen with other Fuji lens so it looks to be an aperture problem.
I will contact Fuji tomorrow but I just wondered if anyone had encountered a similar problem?
Its 6 weeks out of warranty so I hope fuji are in the Xmas spirit!

Would have suggested maybe to check your exp comp dial, but since you say it' not happening with other lenses .... seems an issue specific to that one lens. You don't happen to have the aperture ring set to A? Only other thing I can think of

If you set the aperture ring and the SS to A the camera goes into P mode where the exposure should be constant irrespective of changes, believe me it ain't.
Its like live view on my 5D where yo can see the exposure change but as we say in Yorkshire "a***e backuds"
I think its either stuck blades or an electronic fault as it is lens specific

try setting to bulb and exposing while looking at the lens/glass, to confirm it is not stopping down, and if it does change size with other f.stops. rather than some odd iso or other issue

Make sure the lens/body contacts are clean (guessing you already have)

Also make sure the lens isn't going a tad too far when twisting it to mount on the body, had this problem myself and it messed up the aperture control. With mine the unlock button on the front of the body had got stuck down and the lens could twist a fraction too far meaning the contacts weren't aligning and the lens didn't lock in properly

Try the dog preview see if the aperture does anything then. I'd imagine it's mechanical rather than electrical as you'd most likely see an error message for anything electronic.

Thanks for that I just tried in M Mode , leaving ISO and SS fixed and changing aperture makes no difference to exposure,125 at f3.5 ISO 400 is exactly the same as f22 at 125/400.
Looks to be mechanical-back to Fuji

Thanks for all the ideas and I will report back with progress

Just throwing some thoughts out ;) Where did you buy it? has this only started happening?

I have not used the camera for a bit so I have only just noticed it although I think it was misbehaving last time I used it but I cant really remember as I probably used exp comp to correct slight overexposure
Bought from Jessops 13 months ago so its 6 weeks out of warranty so I hope Fuji are feeling benevolent

Just to wrap this up and thank everyone for their inputs.
The problem was a faulty lens element and it has been repaired under warranty by Fuji
