Ftp in IE8 or Firefox

I have tried and tried to get an Ftp connection to work in either IE8 or Firefox.

So why would I want to....

I have an Ipad with a program called Photo-sort which allows you to connect to your Ipad as an ftp connection and download / upload to directories.

I like the program, it fits my needs perfectly however........

I can ftp the program using Terrapin which I use to upload to my webserver. It connects first time and allows me to manage things perfectly. What I would like to do is use IE to manage it instead mainly because it's less faffin about.

In IE8 I can ftp HP's site for drivers etc but I can't ftp the ipad.

I've turned of all firewalls and made sure my router doesn't filter anything so how come I can ftp HP's ftp but not the ipad.

Got me stumped :bang:
 
How are you using IE8/Firefox to connect to the iPad. What URL are you using? Also, what do you do with Terrapin to connect to the iPad (if I'm understanding correctly)
 
Nope

When I start the App it tells me to ftp to

ftp://192.168.2.112:8080

So when I use Terrapin or any other dedicated FTP client I just enter the above, no usernames or passwords and the client connects.

When I use IE8 or Firefox it won't connect.

See why I'm baffled ?
